It's been awhile since I joined any swaps, but I did join a beach themed swap on squares squared on Ravelry. We had to make 2 or 3 squares to swap that our partner can add to their own squares to make a throw. We also needed to send a bag- preferable hand made, but that part was negotiable. My partner Jody, totally spoiled me - she made three squares - flip flops ( you now how much I loved flip flops!) sandcastle and a sun with shades. She also made a really cool pinwheelish bag with braided handles.
In addition she send a beach themed memo pad, mouse pad calender and photo album, a midsummer's night candle, peach tea, a orange pocket and a reusable shopping bag - you really can't have enough of them!!
I forgot to take a picture of my swap package to Jody so I snagged these pictures that she posted on the group's swap page.
I really can't wait to start making the rest of my squares for a light cotton summer throw!
That is a fun swap! I love everything, both what you made and what you received.
ReplyDeleteHow cool!!I love the bright colors. It makes me want to go to the beach.

ReplyDeletelove what you both did, so much fun and so many cool ideas!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a great swap! I really like the flip flop square. The bag is great too! I love the bag you made for your partner. Did you get that pattern from the back label of Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn? I have one almost finished that I started when I first learned to crochet and I had a hard time understanding the direction for the top and the handles. I need to pull out that ufo and finish the bag.
ReplyDeleteif you give me your email add. I can send you your pattern PDF file and the pattern you want.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I should try another swap. I did one a couple years ago and it was fun!
