Hijacked Curt's gift

If you remember waaaay back to June - My father's day gift to Curt was a trip down to the backwoods known as South Jersey to the Flying Fish Brewery for a tour and tasting. Well this weekend was our first free weekend since Father's Day so we head down tonite.

Originally I had reservations for tonite and Sat nite in Cherry Hill where the brewery was located, and though the tour is 45 minutes long and they tell you to allocate 1 - 11/2 hours, I really didn't figure out the rest of the weekend. The a friend of mine from Ravelry, Min offered to hang out with Angie in Philly if she didn't want to go to the Brewery. You know to a 17 year old ANYTHING is better than hanging with the parents, and since Angie has Temple on her short list of colleges right now, she did want to spend some tme hanging in Philly.

So here's what the weekend turned into. Switched reservations to the Sheraton in Center City Philly. Tomorrow morning after breakfast, am meeting Min at a LYS (local yarn store for you non-yarnies) buy yarn (yes for me) go to brewery while Angie and Min go wherever. Meet Angie and Min at train station somewhere to go to Min's friend (Twistedfiber on Ravelry) I have bought seriously yummy yarn from her. She spins and dyes and dyed the yarn I used for my kerchief in Tony Stewart's new colors. It will be really great to actually meet her in person. (will probably buy more yarn) Then back to Philly for dinner and wherever Angie wants to hang out.

Hmmm, is it a Father's Day Brewery tour trip, or a stash enhancing yarn expedition with a stop for beer??

For you Yarnies out there Brook's Etsy shop is linky I'm not 100%sure if she's still doing it but if you enter the coupon code VJAC she was donating a part of her proceeds for the costs involved in delivering the afghans to Victory Junction camp made by one of the ravelry groups I'm in.

She also dyed most if not all the yarn on VJAC's etsy shop if you want to check that out.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

  5. I don't know about Virginia and DC - wasn't a knitter last time I was in DC. If you are in Philly - Loop on South street is wonderful! Great selection and the nicest people work there!
