The basics:Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!)
RiA what a great message. Anyone that observes Lent or those that don't can really respect this! I keep askin my boos if I can give up work for Lent she says she'll consider it when I become Catholic! LOL
ReplyDeleteLent is about Christ's sacrifice for us. He gave up his life. How incredibly selfish of us to equate that with giving up chocolate. On the other hand, I am not certain most of us (myself included) could really handle 40 days of Christ-like sacrifice.
ReplyDeleteInteresting take on the Hope theme at this time of Lent. Have you given up anything?
ReplyDeleteMy hubby has given up chocolate :O)
I enjoyed your verse -- good message. :)
ReplyDeleteLenten observations can be, well, kind of hopeless exercises...unless... (and I leave it for every reader who goes on this journey to fill in the blank with something hopeful!).
ReplyDeleteI've given up eating haggis for lent. (like I'd eat it anyway...)
ReplyDeleteNicely tied into the date!
